The active hub for production fractals on Ethereum is the Superchain (Optimism + Base). EOS holds the largest single fractal (Roy) but the ecosystem is declining.
ZAO’s unique position
- The only music-focused fractal in the entire ecosystem.
- The only active fractal on Optimism (since Optimism Fractal paused Jan 2026).
- One of only two active fractals on the entire Superchain (alongside Eden Fractal on Base).
- The only fractal embedded inside a full social client (ZAO OS on Farcaster).

- Jan 2026: Optimism Fractal officially paused, consolidated into Eden Fractal. ZAO becomes the only active Optimism fractal.
- June 5, 2025: Eden Fractal Epoch 2 launched on Base. EOS-to-Base migration completed.
- As of May 2026: Eden has run 130+ events total, ZAO has run 100+, no new fractal communities have launched in the last quarter.
